Donald Trump launches ‘SuperTrump’ Digital Trading Cards: a new NFT revolution
The fourth set of digital trading cards designed by former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is available for purchase at a cost of US$99 each card. These digital cards, dubbed “Series 4: The America First Collection,” are non-fungible tokens (NFTs) with distinctive designs honoring Trump’s political career and accomplishments. A number of the cards in the most recent series had the interesting image of Trump as a “sneakerhead” wearing golden shoes of his own, wearing an Iron Man-style costume called “SuperTrump,” and several more with the title “crypto president.”
Trump adopted the “crypto president” title in June during a tech fundraiser, where he championed cryptocurrency and criticized Democratic efforts to regulate the sector. He highlighted the importance of crypto and affirmed his strong support for it.
The release of these NFTs comes with high-end package deals offering physical rewards. Buyers who meet the minimum spend requirement can receive autographed shoes from Trump’s sneaker line, a piece of his debate suit from his confrontation with President Joe Biden, and an exclusive dinner with Trump. Additionally, individuals who spend US$24,750 (using only crypto) are promised tickets to a Trump gala in Florida next month, along with cocktails with the former president.
This NFT launch coincides with the recent announcement on Truth Social of an “official” cryptocurrency project by Trump. He also interacted with a Telegram group called “The DeFiant Ones,” managed by his sons Eric and Don Jr., to comment on decentralized finance (DeFi). Due to the growing popularity of the crypto industry, mainly during the year 2022 wherein there were several company insolvencies leading to scam issues and many investors ended up losing their money, political leaders like Trump are becoming more and more responsible for coming up with a plan to bring everything under control.
