BONK and Korean K9 Rescue Break Guinness World Record with 38 Dogs Walked, Highlighting Adoption and Animal Rights Awareness

Korean K9 Rescue (KK9R), a recognized charitable organization involved in the rescue and welfare of dogs in South Korea, together with blockchain entity BONK on September 5, 2024, has successfully broken a revived GUINNESS WORLD RECORD title 'MOST DOGS WALKED SIMULTANEOUSLY BY AN INDIVIDUAL. 'This record-breaking event was set at the Chungbuk National University near Seoul.

These were held within the framework of Korean Blockchain Week, and one goal was to draw attention to the issue of dog adoption and the fight against animal cruelty. All 38 dogs that participated in this record-setting walk were rescued from different forms of neglect, torture, and abuse in South Korea.

Successful Adoptions and Ongoing Efforts

Ten of the record-breaking dogs participating in the event have been adopted already. Four dogs have already been given away to local houses, while the other six are being flown to the United States to join their new families. These adoptions are a major achievement for KK9R and BONK and demonstrate the importance of collaboration in assisting the rescue of animals and giving them a new home.

Korean K9 Rescue is a non-profit organization based in New York which is aimed at saving and conveying the dogs from South Korea to foster homes for adoption. The organization, through their partnership with BONK has succeeded  in  publicizing their adoption initiatives and finding financial capital to enhance the adoption process. The money obtained during the record-breaking event would compensate some of the expenses that go into feeding and moving the dogs to their respective homes, as well as assisting the less fortunate dogs awaiting their forever homes.

Promoting animal rights awareness.

This record-breaking accomplishment was not just about setting a new record but was also meant to sensitize people about the rules of not adopting dogs and improving animal rights in South Korea. Both BONK and KK9R have highlighted their own desire to change preconceptions regarding dog breeding, especially in areas where adoption prejudices are still present.

Organizing this event within the framework of the Korean Blockchain Week allowed the partners to unite the crypto community, lovers of animals, and citizens of South Korea to direct attention to the fact that everyone should be protected and treated kindly. BONK also used the event as a way to learn their values and actively involve the community for useful activities that could raise awareness of animal rights while focusing more on the purpose of developing a stable and responsible blockchain system.
