Adani Airports Achieve 6.8 Million DigiYatra Transactions, Transforming Passenger Experience

DigiYatra at Adani Airports Holdings Ltd (AAHL) made notable achievements through its operations. DigiYatra operates with facial recognition technology, through which the system has handled more than 6.8 million transactions in its seven operational airports

AAHL's DigiYatra system expanded its reach by including Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram airports in its program, thus making it accessible at every facility managed by AAHL. The company uses technological innovation to roll out this initiative to improve travel safety and ease of travel.

Expanding DigiYatra Adoption Across Airports

Transmission of the DigiYatra system started in August before reaching all airports throughout India. The platform started its operations in Mumbai by serving four locations, including Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Guwahati, which eventually expanded to Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram airports.

AAHL dedicates these new launch points to demonstrate its dedication to deploying technology to enhance airport convenience. The Director of AAHL, Jeet Adani, explains that DigiYatra implements a user-friendly travel solution alongside robust security protocols for aviation travellers.

On select days, the DigiYatra service attracted 37% of airport passengers at different facilities. The airport passenger community has widely embraced DigiYatra because its biometric authentication enhances their journey through airports.

Continuous Growth in Usage and Efficiency

The usage of DigiYatra rose to 37% among airport visitors at Mumbai Airport on January 20, 2025. The service operations of DigiYarta cover the entire airport trip until passengers pass through airport security clearance gates. Upon the launch of Navi Mumbai airport, DigiYatra will integrate its services from entrance checkpoints to all airport boarding gates. According to AAHL data, DigiYatra usage increases by 14% per month, leading to 25% to 30% of passengers using the service at all its airports.

The positive outcomes from the DigiYatra operation prompted AAHL to cooperate with Thales to develop the implementation of the Airport Operation Control Centre (APOC). Big data analytics and AI technology operated through the integrated system allow the platform to create better operations management while providing enhanced passenger services. By implementing the APOC organization, resources can be better used to increase total efficiency in airport management.

Future Plans and Ongoing Developments

AAHL devotes its efforts to building technological solutions to enhance passenger experiences because of growing DigiYatra adoption rates. Future travel efficiency will improve as DigiYatra technology expands availability to new airports and improves airport management systems. Implementing its innovative airport technologies allows AAHL to establish itself as an industry leader in Indian airport technology.

These new technologies will change how passengers connect with airports by creating secure and quicker trips that promote environmental friendliness for a modern airport experience. Travelers will experience additional seamless and safe journeys when AAHL completes further development of its current services.
