The number of Indian travellers is still increasing the tourism rates in various foreign destinations in 2025. Moscow, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, and Georgia record high returns as Indian holidaymakers switch their choices in the face of geopolitical realignments. New routes are also becoming popular among many travellers since Azerbaijan and Turkey lost ground following the Operation Sindoor.

According to the figures provided by the Moscow City Tourism Committee, 40,800 Indian visitors have already been received by the city in the first half of 2025. The number is 40% higher than that of the previous year. India is now Moscow's second international arrival source outside the former Soviet Union. Growth also indicates smoother processes of entry, with Russia providing e-visas in 4 days with no invitations and no hotel confirmations.

Similar momentum is reflected in hotel bookings in the Russian capital. Nearly 94% of summer bookings at three to five-star hotels on Ostrovok were made by non-CIS travellers. Indians come strongly in the premium segment. Moscow is targeting up to six million foreign visitors a year by 2030, aided by better connectivity and simplified entry rules.

Vietnam and Japan Strengthen Their Position Among Indian Travellers

Vietnam continues to gain ground among Indian holiday-makers. The country had received 443,000 visitors from India during the first eight months of 2025, which is a 42.2% increase from the same period last year. Travel platforms report that there is strong demand for destinations like Phu Quoc. New packages by MakeMyTrip and the introduction of direct flights by Air India Express are supporting this spurt.

There is also a sharp increase in Japan, according to the Japan National Travel Organization, 233,400 Indian tourists came in the period between January and September, and this indicates a rise of 36.6%. Travel companies have focused on the extended routes because travellers are including Sapporo in the routes that they already have to Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka.

Growth Extends to South Korea, Georgia, and Dubai

Georgia is also on the rise as a favorite destination. The country has received 103,968 Indian visitors in the first nine months of 2025, up 19%. The authorities credit better connectivity and greater cooperation with Indian travel companies.

South Korea is also reporting good results; the country received 153,619 Indian visitors between January and September, up 13%. The officials of the tourism industry claim that more people are interested in visiting the resort cities of Busan, Gangneung, and Gyeongju due to the global popularity of Korean entertainment and beauty trends. Dubai is one of the key destinations because it is projected to receive 2.05 million South Asians in the first nine months of 2025.
