Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), has retained the top spot in the Forbes India Rich List 2025, with a net worth of $105 billion. Nevertheless, the wealth of Ambani decreased by $12, or approximately $14.5 billion, from the previous year's level of $119.5 billion. The decline is an indication of a challenging business climate, even after his further growth in the artificial intelligence and deep-tech ventures under the Reliance Intelligence.

Ambani is the wealthiest man in India, who remains successfully present in the spheres of energy, telecommunications, and retail. The range of his portfolio continues to generate a significant amount of income, but the overall market instability has impacted the valuations of various divisions of his business.

Adani’s Wealth Drops Sharply Following Market Challenges

The second person was Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group, who holds a net worth of $92 billion. His wealth declined by 20% or by 24 billion to what it was the year before (116 billion). The downfall came after the market scrutiny and legal difficulties in the foreign markets. However, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) recently confirmed that it had not detected any fraud claims of previous fraud by Hindenburg Research.

The regulatory clearance has enabled the Adani Group to regain its footing, and most of its companies are already recovering. Adani's diversification into ports, energy, and infrastructure remains a pillar that makes him one of the most influential industrialists in India.

Other Leading Billionaires and Emerging Names

Savitri Jindal and family were placed number three with a combined net worth of 40.2 billion, thus retaining the title of the wealthiest woman in India. The diverse portfolio of the Jindal Group, containing steel, power, mining, and cement, continues to provide financial prosperity to the family.

Sunil Mittal of Bharti Airtel moved to the fourth position with $34.2 billion, thanks to the good performance of the Indian telecom industry. Co-founder of HCL, Shiv Nadar, was listed at $33.2 billion, slightly lower than the previous year. Other new additions to the list include the Doshi siblings, Sunil Vachani of Dixon Technologies, and Leena Tewari. According to Forbes, the total wealth of the top 100 individuals in India decreased by 9%, currently amounting to approximately $1 trillion.
