The RoboCop sequel promises new weapons and flashbacks!

The iconic automaton RoboCop is up for another digital release with RoboCop: Rogue City- Unfinished Business, a sequel slated for a Summer 2025 release.

Following the surprise sequel release, developer Teyon is set to take advantage of the renewed excitement for the franchise, encouraging gritty action and unwavering adaptation that resonated with the fan base.

RoboCop: Rogue City defied expectations upon its release as long as a well-crafted game can breathe new life into beloved properties.

Tayon precisely recreated the dystopian Detroit of the original films, capturing the tyrannical atmosphere and the moral decay that permeated the city.

Beyond its Recreation

Developer revealed a follow-up love letter to Paul Verheoven's original RoboCop on Thursday.

Rogue City delivered a satisfying gameplay loop that balanced action and investigation. Players weren't simply running and gunning; they were personifying RoboCop's role as a law enforcement officer who controls the crime rate in the city.

Teyon decided to give his players a first-person shooter experience by reviving Alex Murphy, the old Detroit Police officer, and recapitulating his role with original RoboCop movie actor Peter Weller.

Murphy has not planned to turn in his gun and his virtual badge just yet, as the success of RoboCop: Rogue City, the recent appearance in Mortal Kombat 11 and the side-by-side view of the first and second parts of the RoboCop movie show the more possible potential in the game.

The game is about protecting and patrolling the streets of Detroit, solving dangerous cases and putting away the criminals.

It wasn't just a nostalgic trip; it was a well-crafted game that stood on its own merits, proving RoboCop could be authentic and fun.

RoboCop: Rogue City—Unfinished Business

Rogue City was a huge hit with its classic '80s sci-fi fans and instantly gained more than 4,35,000 players across the world within a span of two weeks in November 2023.

The publisher Nacon has revealed that the sequel to RoboCop and, as per VGC, Unifinished Business will be placed in a massive hit complex, the OwniTower, which is built by questionable Omni Consumer Products.

The RoboCop is called into action, and the players will have to fight their way to the top as the OmniTower has become a deadly fortress ruled and controlled by a group of highly trained mercenaries and criminals with destructive and cutting-edge weapons.

According to the newly released trailer, RoboCop will have a variety of newly assorted weapons for the missions, which also include a freezing Cryo Cannon.

Players can also use finishing moves to crush the criminals against vending machines and concrete walls.

Publisher Nacon describes the new sequel as the expansion of its original RoboCop: Rogue City, and its story presumably won't be as long as its predecessor.
