Adani Power said its subsidiary, Moxie Power Generation Ltd (MPGL), has won a five-year power supply contract for 558 MW (net) in Tamil Nadu. The company said Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd. (TNPDCL) issued a Letter of Award for the supply, with deliveries scheduled to start on April 1, 2026.

MPGL quoted a tariff of Rs 5.910 per unit and secured the lowest-bidder position in the tender, according to Adani Power’s disclosure. The agreement adds a medium-term offtake arrangement for generation from MPGL’s Tuticorin thermal plant.

558 MW Tamil Nadu power supply agreement details and tariff terms

Adani Power stated that TNPDCL awarded the 558 MW contract to MPGL for five years. The company said the award followed a competitive bidding process, and MPGL won with a Rs 5.910 per unit tariff.

The company also confirmed the start date for supply as April 1, 2026. It positioned the agreement as a contracted sale that can limit exposure to short-term power market swings.

Adani Power said MPGL will supply the contracted electricity from its 1,200 MW thermal power plant in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. The plant runs two 600 MW units, and the company said the new agreement now covers both units under power supply arrangements.

Because the contract covers a net supply of 558 MW, the arrangement links a defined portion of generation to TNPDCL over the contract period. This structure can support dispatch planning and fuel scheduling, since the buyer and volume remain defined.

PPA tie-up progress and implications for contracted capacity

Adani Power said the Tuticorin award pushes its operational fleet closer to full contracting under medium- to long-term deals. It stated that more than 95% of its total operational capacity now sits under such contracts after this award.

The company said it aims to move toward near 100% power purchase agreement tie-ups for operational and under-construction plants over time. Adani Power described itself as India’s largest private power producer, with a generation capacity of about 18.15 GW.

Adani Power also linked the agreement to Tamil Nadu supply reliability. In its release, the company said the contract should “enhance grid stability” and support uninterrupted supply for households, businesses, and industries.
